These gentle postures provide a habit-melting structure for your body to release tension. The poses are long enough for your nervous system to entrain to the rhythm of your increasingly rhythmic breath. And the early bird code (first 4 to sign up) is RandR - it is case and space-sensitive.

Restorative Yoga plus Reiki given by your restorative yoga guide, Christine Stump (Usui Reiki Master). Restorative Yoga poses, fully supported by bolsters, blankets, blocks, and your eye pillow, allow you to soften into support for 5-10, even 15 minutes sometimes for final resting pose (Savasanahhhh!). These gentle postures provide a habit-melting structure for your body to release tension. The poses are long enough for your nervous system to entrain to the rhythm of your increasingly rhythmic breath. Guided meditations will accompany some poses, while others will allow you to sink into the quiet between your breaths.
Christine offers intuitive Reiki during these sessions, meaning that where she hovers her hands over individual students and during which postures is led by her intuition, based on your check-in. Permission cards are used. Each student will receive at least a couple of rounds of Reiki over the course of the two-hour experience.
This is a gentle class, and the best experience is from lying on the floor. Please let me know if you wish to attend and will practice from a chair.
From a friend and fellow Reiki Master, Karen DiTrapini (also Shamanic Practitioner):
"Reiki is an ancient therapeutic touch therapy rediscovered by a 19th-century Japanese physician named Mikao Usui. Reiki works with the human body’s energy and electrical field to stimulate healing. It is non-invasive and very gentle, yet powerful. Reiki has been found to reduce inflammation and increase oxygen levels in the blood. Reiki is safe to use on all living beings and is an excellent complement to any additional alternative or allopathic treatments a client may be engaged in. Reiki works on all levels: emotional, spiritual, and physical. A study measuring the effects of Reiki in treating stress and depression resulted in a statistically significant decrease in symptoms of psychological depression and self-perceived stress. In an article by D.W. Wardell and J. Engebretsun in the Journal of Advanced Nursing, February 2001, “Biological Correlates of Reiki Touch Healing,” anxiety was shown to be significantly reduced after treatment s. The two above studies have been quoted in the article, “Military and VA Using Reiki to Heal Returning Veterans,” which also reports that Military Medical Research has identified a high-risk correlation between Veterans with PTSD and heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure, autoimmune diseases, asthma, and migraines. Reiki is presently being utilized at the Fort Bliss Restoration and Resilience Center in Texas. "
