In Between the Seconds... In a World of Chaos, There is Beauty...

ree

Once upon a time, I set out to understand what beauty truly was. I thought I might find it in the obvious places — the way the sun sets in a burst of fire over the horizon, the ocean’s wild breath against the shore, the glow of a single candle in a darkened room. And yes, I found it there… but only pieces of it.

Those are the moments everyone expects to be beautiful.

The truth I didn’t see right away is that beauty isn’t something you hunt down. It’s not a rare jewel locked away for only the fortunate to find. Beauty is always here, everywhere, slipping into our days quietly. It doesn’t announce itself with fanfare. More often than not, it waits — tucked between the seconds of your life, just far enough out of sight that you could miss it if you’re moving too fast.

It hides in plain sight. In the way morning light spills across the kitchen table. In the quiet weight of someone’s hand resting in yours. In the sound of wind catching the trees before a summer storm. In a stranger’s smile that appears for no reason other than kindness.

And maybe most of all, beauty does not wait for your life to be calm. It isn’t shy about showing up when everything around you is loud and messy. It will stand right there in the middle of your chaos — shoulder to shoulder with your fears, your heartbreaks, your impossible deadlines, your unanswered questions.

In the roar of your day, it’s the little boy chasing a balloon down the sidewalk while his mother calls after him. It’s the way the rain turns the asphalt into a mirror, reflecting a sky you hadn’t looked at in days. It’s the soft scent of coffee in the middle of a morning that feels like it might break you.

When the noise gets too loud, beauty becomes the quiet in your own breath, the place where your soul still remembers the rhythm of peace. It doesn’t erase the chaos — it threads itself through it. That’s its nature. It doesn’t need you to be perfectly still to be seen. It just needs you to look.

If you don’t stop — if you don’t soften your grip on the moment — it will slip past you. The world will keep spinning, and beauty will keep appearing, patient and unhurried, waiting for the instant when your heart turns its head and catches sight of it.

So today, pause...

Not forever. Not even for an hour.

Just long enough for your mind to quiet and your eyes to see. Let the edges of your busyness blur. Notice the space between your heartbeats. That’s where beauty waits.

Even now. Even here. Even in the thick of everything. Blessings, Love & Light...
